1998 Moniteau County Missouri Queries

SEWING --

I am attempting to find out some information on my great grandfather, William SEWING, who lived in Moniteau Co. MO with his brother John Henry SEWING about 1856 - 1860. We don't have a middle initial, but William SEWING (born about 20 November, 1836 or 1838), came from Prussia Germany as an infant with his parents the Henry SEWINGS. His pension records show he lived with his parents in Franklin County until about 1856 (his pension records also state they lived 14 miles NW of Union, the County Seat, and 12 miles south of Washington, MO). He then lived with his brother John Henry SEWING in Moniteau CO., MO from 1856 until 1860 when he moved to St. Louis and enlisted in the Civil War. Any information or suggestions for finding out more about John Henry Sewing, brother of William SEWING or any other family members would really be appreciated. Would be happy to exchange any information I have with others researching this same line. SHARON BATSON -- Sat Apr 4 17:50:17 1998
