Service Stations

From the introduction of automobile in the early 1900s there have been garages and service stations. At one time from the late 1950s to the 1970s, California had a service station on each of the four corners of the Hwy 50 (now Bus. 50) and 87 intersection. The first one was in 1925 on the northwest corner where an insurance office is now (2024), followed by a Standard station built in 1930 on the southeast corner. This was followed by a Mobil Service Station in 1938 on the northeast corner where KRLL radio station has been for many years. The fourth station was originally a Gulf station erected in 1958.
